On September 9, 2026, the 5th Hong Kong International Biotechnology Forum and Exhibition (BIOHK2026) opened at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Marking its fifth anniversary, the conference adopted the theme "Global Biotechnology Kaleidoscope," positioning itself as a "super connector" in the biotechnology field. The event featured five core segments and 20 thematic breakout sessions, covering frontier tracks including AI life sciences, cell and gene therapy, brain-computer interfaces, synthetic biology, and anti-aging and longevity. It brought together over 10,000 participants from more than 40 countries and regions, over 500 speakers, and nearly 200 benchmark enterprises exhibiting. New country and regional international cooperation sessions were added, including Northern Europe, the United States, Japan, and Belt and Road segments. At the opening ceremony, Professor Yu Changhai, Chairman of the Conference; Liang Zhenying, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference; Sun Dong, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry of Hong Kong; Lu Chongmao, Secretary for Health; and Chen Xu and Liu Chuwen, relevant officials from Guangzhou and Shenzhen, among many other guests, attended and delivered remarks. John Lee, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, sent a congratulatory letter to the conference, and former United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon also sent congratulations, highly affirming Hong Kong's unique value as a "super connector" in the science and innovation field.

During BIOHK2026, the "AFCR Symposium – Cell and Gene Therapy Forum 2: Clinical Progress and Regulatory Innovation" was held as scheduled. Professor Wang Jianxun, Chief Scientist of Shenzhen Cell Valley Biopharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd., was invited to attend and deliver a special presentation titled "eVLP-Based Cas9/gRNA RNP Delivery System for CAR-T/CAR-NK Cell Preparation," sharing Cell Valley Group's latest technological achievements in gene editing and immune cell manufacturing with global industry peers.

In his presentation, Professor Wang Jianxun stated that CAR-T and CAR-NK represent important directions for next-generation immune cell therapy, and that cell preparation processes are a key bottleneck constraining the scaled implementation of these therapies. For the industry to advance advanced cell therapies from the laboratory to the clinic, it must focus on addressing practical issues including safety, scaled production, and quality consistency.

Cell Valley Group, centered on its full-industry-chain CGT platform capabilities, continues to advance full-chain development from early-stage R&D to GMP-scale manufacturing, quality control, and clinical translation, supporting more cutting-edge cell therapies in completing clinical translation. At the same time, the implementation of regulatory policies such as the Regulations on the Administration of Clinical Research and Clinical Translational Application of Emerging Biomedical Technologies (commonly known in the industry as "Decree No. 818") has established a standardized development framework for the CGT industry. While encouraging technological innovation, it strengthens full-process safety oversight and serves as an important safeguard for the healthy development of the industry.

Against the global regulatory landscape, he noted that domestic CGT enterprises must both benchmark against international advanced standards and ground themselves in the local policy environment, further optimizing the translation loop of research–process–clinical–industrialization.

Cell Valley Group officially launched its internationalization strategy in 2025. Relevant technical documentation has completed FDA DMF filing and archival, and the company continues to advance its GMP production system development. It has established channel cooperation with institutions in Thailand, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, Singapore, and Hong Kong, China, among other s, advancing cell product overseas expansion and the co-construction of technology exchange and cooperation centers. It also collaborates with top medical experts domestically and internationally on advanced therapy R&D, building an international service system to help innovative cell therapies benefit patients worldwide.

Going forward, the company will take BIOHK2026 as an important international cooperation platform, continuing to leverage Hong Kong's international platform and the resource advantages of the Greater Bay Area to further deepen cross-border cooperation and regulatory exchanges, jointly explore accessible pathways for advanced therapies, and promote the coordinated development of the cell therapy industry in the Asia-Pacific region.
