Recently, Li Jianhua, Vice President of Guangzhou Medical University; Zhang Hui, Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office; Zhang Xiaoren, Dean of the School of Life Sciences; and Gong Qing, Associate Dean of the School of Life Sciences, visited the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Cell Valley. Professor Shi Yuanyuan, Chairman and General Manager of the Cell Valley Group, and Xiang Hua, Deputy General Manager of the Group and General Manager of Guangzhou Cell Valley, extended a warm welcome and held symposium discussions. The two sides engaged in in-depth exchanges on topics including the policy landscape for the cell and gene therapy industry, implementation models for public service platforms, and university-enterprise talent cultivation cooperation.

During the symposium, Chairman Shi Yuanyuan introduced the Cell Valley Group's technological barriers, qualification filings, public service platform models, university-enterprise talent cultivation cooperation cases, strategic layout, and international business expansion. The two sides held in-depth discussions on the policy environment and industry pain points in the cell and gene therapy sector. He noted that following the implementation of relevant State Council regulations on May 1, 2026, the industry's compliance pathways have been gradually clarified. The Cell Valley Group has accumulated extensive experience in the public service platform model, and through platform solutions backed by state-owned capital, has effectively addressed the liability concerns of all parties, providing a solid industrial foundation for university-enterprise cooperation.
Vice President Li Jianhua introduced the academic strengths of Guangzhou Medical University and the points of alignment with the Cell Valley for cooperation. He noted that Guangzhou Medical University was selected as a "Double First-Class" institution in 2022 for its clinical medicine discipline. The School of Life Sciences offers a biotechnology program with a solid talent cultivation foundation, which closely aligns with the Cell Valley Group's technological direction and talent needs. He expressed anticipation for deep cooperation in areas such as joint training and platform co-development.
Both parties agreed that this exchange has laid a solid foundation for subsequent in-depth cooperation. Going forward, the Cell Valley Group will further align with Guangzhou Medical University on talent cultivation, joint research platform development, and industrial project implementation, fully leveraging their respective strengths to jointly promote university-enterprise coordinated development in the cell and gene therapy field.
